Leader in Sweden is now well underway. An impressive 63 Leader areas have been established and are now active throughout Sweden’s rural areas. Leader has proven itself to be a successful method for developing the possibilities of rural areas.
The strength of the Leader approach is its deeply rooted local perspective and focus on cross-sectoral cooperation. The partnership in LAG, Local Action Group, combines the responsibility of the public sector with the efficiency of the private sector and the commitment of the non-profit sector.
Creative, enterprising people are essential and are a prerequisite for continued development.
